Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Boreal Conferences undergo double-blind peer review, meaning that the identities of authors and reviewers are withheld from one another throughout the evaluation process.

Review Stages

1. Initial editorial screening for scope, formatting, and plagiarism
2. Assignment to a minimum of two independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise
3. Reviewer evaluation, typically completed within 2–4 weeks
4. Editorial decision based on reviewer recommendations

Possible Decisions

• Accept — manuscript proceeds to production
• Minor Revisions — small changes required before acceptance
• Major Revisions — substantive revision and re-review required
• Reject — manuscript does not meet publication standards

Appeals

Authors who believe a decision was based on a misunderstanding of their manuscript or a procedural error may submit a formal appeal to the Editorial Office. Appeals are considered by an editor not involved in the original decision, and the Editorial Office will respond within the standard two-business-day window to acknowledge receipt.
